The protest against the Strait Bridge heats upthe work on which the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Matteo Salvini has bet above all, after the green light from the Technical Commission of the Ministry of the Environment with the prescription to the “Strait of Messina”, the State concessionaire for the construction of the great work , to respect the numerous “prescribed environmental conditions”.
The Bridge «will cause damage and is already doing so to those who live in those houses. It is a very delicate moment, there is anxiety, concern for us who live in the areas that will be expropriated. Salvini is deporting thousands of people.” This is the cry of the citizens of Messina and Villa San Giovanni, who will have their homes expropriated for the construction work. These are around 450 families and 3,000 businesses, who sent a delegation to Rome with the “No Bridge” committee to make their voices heard and with at their side, among others, the CGIL, Legambiente, the WWF and the leader of Avs, Angelo Bonelli.
Something that “cannot be accepted”, they underline in a press conference, organized in a hotel right in front of the Chamber of Deputies. Therefore they invite “the government to reflect”.
