Five great voices of the South for the cover of a musical cult of the 80s, a milestone of the Italian Italian rap of the Italian rap. “But what idea», the ironic manifest song of Pino d’Angiò (1981), relives in a new version of the Glorius and of Mario Crescenzoavailable on YouTube and Tiktok with a video clip directed by the Peloritano director Vincenzo Tripodoshot in the local Messina Renouveau. A self -produced project that comes one year after the author’s disappearance, the result of the human and professional partnership between the formidable Messina Quartet (formed by Cecilia Foti, Federica D’Andrea, Mariachiara Millimaggi and Agnese Carrubba) and the artist from Salerno, voice of the blacks by chance, of which the glorius, artistic excellence in Italy and in the world, have opened a concert.
«The cover of the cover was born years ago from a very stimulating artistic comparison with Mario – he says Cecilia Fotisinger and actress – following which Agnese thought of an arrangement, to be recorded as soon as it would have been possible ».
The choice fell on that specific song to enhance Crescenzo’s vocality. “As a female vocal quartet, we wanted to light the opposites – continues Foti – playing on the contrast between our clear and lower voices of Mario, who was an incredible generosity in reaching us in Messina both for the engraving and for the video. Ours was an idea of ​​musical and vocal colors that would go beyond a particular musical genre, with a song that would have been new and captivating for the public ».
New lymph, therefore, for a piece that resists the passage of time for the original, engaging and well -kept sound. «For this we still dance it in the disco and listen to it reinterpreted by other singers. Re -reding him has given us a lot of fun ».
To embellish the cover – which was recorded in the Casadimusica studio di Francesco Pisano with mix and mastering of Alfonso Peña – The bass of the Cuban Danny Noelwhich is combined with the vocal arrangement of percussion and clap of the glorius, made by Carrubba, and to the interpretation of Crescenzo.
Of equally prestige collaborations for the video, co-produced with the cultural association vertical scene, which saw the participation of Antonello Piccione (director of photography), Patrizio Celano (second unit direction), Giovanni Privitera (lights), Cinzia Muscolino (costumes), Sabina hairdressers (hairstyles), Ivana Carcame (choreography) e Antonella Raffa (trick). Professionalism of absolute international prestige, who have made a significant contribution, creating a real film set.

On the set also the students of the Piccione photography course and the students of the ABAM – Academy Fine Arts Messina. The video is dedicated to D’Angiò, who passed away on July 6, 2024, and to the Messina choreographer and dancer Antonio Gullofounder of the Actorgym school with Tripodo and collaborator of the Glorius, who passed away in 2018.
