From Rimini to Dublin, to promote Calabria. It moves on a dual channel the Region’s strategy to deseasonalize tourist flows: the governor Roberto Occhiuto he was in Ireland to meet the top management of Ryanair, the councillor Giovanni Calabrese with the department managers in Rimini to participate with a stand in the 61st edition of the “Ttg Travel Experience”.
Wanting to fly
The contents of the governor’s trip are top secret. «We will communicate everything in due time», let the Occhiuto staff know who simply published a photo and two lines on Instagram. You see an overview of Gioia Tauro on a monitor with a wording in English: «Railway connection to the port». Occhiuto adds little in the short text: «In Dublin to attract new Ryanair investments in Calabria». Certainly there has been talk of the increasingly concrete presence of Irish low cost on the routes to and from Calabria: a strategy which has allowed the relaunch of Reggio Calabria airport and which, with the elimination of the municipal surcharge since last August, has made Lamezia and Crotone are also much more attractive. But there would also be more in terms of investments in the cauldron and the focus on Gioia Tauro would indicate something in this direction. Meanwhile, Ryanair, which won the Region’s public notices, has started the territorial marketing campaign: a banner advertising Calabria also appeared on the company’s website.
In the “showcase”
While Occhiuto was in Dublin, the 61st edition of the “Ttg Travel Experience” in Rimini concluded which saw the participation of the Calabria Region with a stand dedicated to its tourist and cultural excellence. Councilor Calabrese participated in the event, together with the general manager of the department, Maria Antonella Cauteruccio, and the sector managers Gina Aquino, Cosimo Carmelo Caridi and Giovanni Aramini, speaking in the various seminars that took place in the Calabria stand, welcoming the exhibitors and the many visitors, to promote the Calabrian territory on a national and international level.
Calabrese personally met with the approximately 50 operators from Calabria who came to Rimini, for a moment of growth and discussion, listening to suggestions and ideas.
