Senator Nicola Irto, secretary of the Calabria Democratic Party, presented a question to the ministers of Justice, Public Administration and Economy asking for “urgent interventions to protect the 12 thousand precarious Justice workers, including many residents of Calabria, hired on fixed-term contracts as part of the Pnrr projects”.
Irto, in the question, urges the government «to clarify what initiatives it intends to adopt to guarantee the stabilization of personnel, to establish a permanent inter-ministerial table with the participation of trade unions and to provide for an extraordinary fund dedicated to stabilization in the next budget law, in order to ensure continuity of work and quality of service. Over the years, these workers have guaranteed the functioning of courts, prosecutor’s offices and chancelleries. Therefore they cannot be left without prospects, faced with the expiry of their contracts scheduled for July 2026. The 2024 budget law has provided for partial resources, sufficient for the stabilization of around six thousand units, while another six thousand risk remaining without protection, despite their contribution having been decisive in achieving the objectives of the Pnrr. It is unacceptable that the State trains, uses and then abandons thousands of workers who have allowed the judicial machine to move forward.”
