The Council of the Calabria Region, in today’s session, on the proposal of the president, Roberto Occhiuto, approved the regional Civil Protection Plan.

The Plan, which was shared with the components and operational structures of the regional Civil Protection System, establishes the actions to identify the main risks existing in the regional territory, with the aim of outlining the intervention model and allowing rescue actions.

The document, fundamental for non-structural prevention, also envisages determining the main network and the secondary network of regional critical infrastructures for the priority sectors; to define the communication flows between the components and operational structures involved in the regional civil protection service; to establish the needs for educational and training activities of volunteers and institutional operators engaged in civil protection tasks, as well as information activities for the population on the risks present in the regional territory.

The executive then approved the Economic and Financial Document of the Calabria Region (Defr) for the years 2026-2028 which describes the international, national and regional economic and financial scenarios, the policies to be adopted, and the objectives of the regional budget maneuver. The Document also sets out the regional unitary financial framework of all the resources available for the pursuit of the objectives and the unitary regional programming, explaining the implementation tools for the reference period.

At the same time, the proposal to the Regional Council for the approval of the bill relating to the financial forecast budget of the Calabria Region for the years 2026-2028 was approved.

Furthermore, in order to implement the planning process, the proposal to the Regional Council of the draft “Regional Stability Law 2026” was also approved, which contains the financial reference framework, for the period included in the forecast budget, and rules aimed at achieving financial effects starting from the first year considered in the forecast budget.

Finally, a provision by the Councilor for Agriculture, Gianluca Gallo, on hunting was approved to initiate, in full implementation of community provisions, the updating of the regional wildlife-hunting plan and the related Strategic Environmental Assessment (VAS) procedure.
