“With the Public Notice for Competent Youth, the Calabria Region takes a concrete and significant step in support of the new generations. In a time in which our boys and girls often find themselves facing emotional fragility, isolation, addictions and the distorted use of social media, it is our duty to offer tools and opportunities that help them grow in a healthy, aware and resilient way”. This is what the councilor for Education, Spot and Youth Policies of the Calabria Region, Eulalia Micheli, states regarding the publication of the public notice “Competent Young People”, an initiative, with the support of the National Fund for Youth Policies, designed to strengthen the psychophysical, relational and social well-being of young Calabrians.
“This initiative – continues Micheli – is not just a funding call: it is an investment in the future of Calabria. We want to promote respectful relationships, balanced lifestyles and educational paths that strengthen young people’s confidence in their own abilities and in the value of the community, capable of accompanying boys and girls towards a more balanced and inclusive future”.
The projects that will be presented must be aimed at young people between the ages of 15 and 34 and may include “peer education” activities (a method that exploits the knowledge and experiences shared between members of a peer group to facilitate learning and promote well-being, ed.), training courses aimed at significant adults, digital citizenship and psychosocial well-being education initiatives, outdoor experiences and peer listening and support actions.
The Notice is addressed to Third Sector trade associations operating in the cultural, social, educational or youth fields, registered with RUNTS and based in Calabria, as well as to local educational institutions. The available resources amount to a total of 538,000 euros, with a maximum contribution of 10,000 euros for each project.
“I invite all interested parties – concludes councilor Micheli – to seize this opportunity and present innovative and inclusive proposals. The Region will be at their side to accompany our young people towards a stronger, more aware and fairer future”.
