Holy Week in the diocese of Catanzaro-Squillace opens with a rich calendar of celebrations at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the spiritual heart of the city, to accompany faithful and communities on the way to Easter.
Palm Sunday, April 13, it will be the first solemn appointment:
At 11:00, from the Church of the Mount, the gathering for the blessing of the olive ramis and palm trees will start, followed by the procession to the Basilica and the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Claudio Maniago.
Wednesday 16 April, In the afternoon, at 17:00, the solemn chrism mass presided over by the archbishop Claudio Maniago will take place at the Squillace coat.
Holy ThursdayApril 17, at 18:00, the celebration of the Mass in Coena Domini will be held, with the possibility of visiting the altar of the reposition from 19:30 until midnight.
Good FridayApril 18, will be marked by three strong moments:
09:30: celebration of the liturgy of the hours,
15:30: Liturgical Action of Passion
18:30: traditional procession of the “Naca”, with departure and return from the Basilica.
Holy SaturdayApril 19, at 09:30, celebration of the liturgy of the hours, waiting for the solemn Easter vigil to be held at 10:30 pm.
Easter SundayApril 20, the joy of the resurrection will be celebrated with the solemn Eucharistic liturgy in the Co -metal of Squillace chaired by the Archbishop.
An intense week, between spirituality, liturgy and popular traditions, which accompanies the faithful towards Easter light, in a path of meditation, sharing and inner renewal.
