Cerisano becomes a forum for political and cultural discussion with the launch of the Asprom School of Politics, promoted by the municipal administration. From 8 May to 20 June the village will host authoritative scholars and personalities from politics and culture for a training course aimed at students from all over Italy.
The inauguration
The inaugural day, scheduled for Friday 8 May, will be enriched by an institutional event open to the public dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic and the Constituent Assembly. At 6pm, at Palazzo Sersale, there will be a presentation of the book “2 Giugno” by professor Umberto Gentiloni Silveri, professor of contemporary history at the Sapienza University of Rome.
The prefect of the province of Cosenza, Rosa Maria Padovano, will be present at the meeting. The moderator will be Salvatore Giorno from Feltrinelli Librerie. Speeches are expected from the mayor of Cerisano Lucio Di Gioia and the director of the Asprom School of Politics Domenico Talarico.
The project
The volume “2 June”, published by Il Mulino, traces the historical, political and civil significance of the birth of the Italian Republic and the Constitution. The initiative comes in the aftermath of the celebration promoted by the Historical Archive of the Presidency of the Republic, during which Gentiloni Silveri himself held a lectio magistralis.
The Asprom School of Politics was created with the aim of creating opportunities for study, discussion and participation aimed at the new generations and beyond. The initiative, financed by the Ministry of Culture and the European Union, is part of the broader cultural program promoted by the Municipality of Cerisano, aimed at combining training and redevelopment of the village.
