The communication from the General Management of Roma Capitale, following the trade union meeting on 23 January, formalizes the withdrawal of the self-protection notice on the basis of the observations of CGIL CISL and UIL who participated in the meeting.
The turning point after the “No” to the review received a few weeks ago by the municipal administration of Crotone, which had the intention of protecting the 150 workers employed in the headquarters of the “aCapo” company which has so far managed the service itself
For UILCOM this is an important step because it recognizes the centrality of labor protection in procurement and the need for full consistency with the signed agreements and the shared tender models. The express reference to the agreement for protected employment in service and supply contracts constitutes a firm point for the protection of employment, rights and quality of work along the procurement chain. The Administration’s choice confirms that the union discussion, when listened to and implemented, allows us to correct critical issues and prevent negative repercussions on workers involved in contract changes.
UILCOM reiterates its willingness to continue the discussion with Roma Capitale in all subsequent phases, starting from the definition of tender documents fully compliant with the agreements in force and respectful of working conditions and requests that the method adopted on this occasion, the technical analysis, listening to union observations, checking consistency with the agreements, becomes ordinary practice for all tenders relating to services and supplies that impact employment.
UILCOM Calabria looks carefully at this signal, because it confirms a principle claimed every day also in our territories: tenders must be an instrument of service quality and good employment, not a field of downward competition on wages, rights and working conditions. It is essential that this method of comparison and correction is taken as a stable reference in all administrations, in Rome as in Calabria, to guarantee employment continuity, correct application of contracts and respect for the people who work.
