Messina is preparing to experience a Christmas 2025 full of music, lights and great presences on the stage in Piazza Duomo. Among the initiatives that will enliven the city in the period between Christmas and New Year, the concerts by Irama and Francesco Gabbani stand out, two of the most beloved artists on the Italian pop scene, expected in the city to perform in front of the Messina public during the end-of-year holidays. The official confirmation of the names will arrive during the press conference scheduled for Monday 1 December 2025 at 10.30, in the Hall of Flags of Palazzo Zanca, during the presentation of the “Christmas Messina 2025” program.
The appointment will be an opportunity to reveal the entire calendar of the Christmas event. The press conference The mayor Federico Basile and the councilors Massimo Finocchiaro, Liana Cannata and Enzo Caruso will participate in the meeting, together with the general director of the Municipality Salvo Puccio. Also present were the presidents and members of the municipal subsidiaries, involved in the planning and implementation of the rich program of events.
During the conference, the activities that will mark the holiday period will be illustrated, starting with the traditional lighting of the trees on 8 December, which will illuminate the atrium of the Municipal Palace and the main squares of the center and villages.
A calendar spread throughout the city “Christmas Messina 2025” will propose a broad and structured program, designed to enhance the territory and accompany citizens and visitors in a month of initiatives spread from the historic center to the villages.
Shows, music, light installations, markets and moments dedicated to families will mark the festive days, culminating in the great musical events at the end of the year with live shows by Irama and Gabbani in Piazza Duomo.
The city thus aims to transform the Christmas period into an opportunity for aggregation, cultural promotion and tourism relaunch.
