Youth, adolescence, holiness, symbolism of the sacred. These are the topics covered by the four documentaries That Tv2000 presented this morning at the81st Venice International Film Festival at the Italian Pavilion, Sala Tropicana 2, Hotel Excelsior. “We thank the president of the Biennale, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco – said director Vincenzo Morgante – once again the Venice Film Festival opens its arms to welcome and launch Tv2000’s proposals for the new television season: a poker of documentaries of which we are particularly proud and which, I am sure, will not fail to arouse the interest of the public”.
We believe a lot – continued Morgante – in the language of documentary, in all its forms. This is also why we tenaciously defend a space reserved for this cinematographic and television genre within our schedule. And for the same reason we venture into the creation of products with the most diverse cuts and shapes: from investigation to disclosure, through biographical narrative and social investigation. Alongside the plurality of languages adopted by the four works, I would also like to underline the unity of purpose pursued in the planning and production phase. Tv2000 aims to speak to young people and to achieve this it does not hesitate to give them a voice and listen to them. In all these documentaries the presence, the voice, the ideas and the faces of numerous young people emerge”.
“We thank the Venice Film Festival for its hospitality and the Fondazione Ente per lo Spettacolo – added Massimo Porfiri, CEO of Tv2000 – with whom we have been working in synergy for years in a spirit of service to the Italian Church. We want to tell the daily reality with honesty, while offering company and support to those who follow us. This is our vocation. We always prioritize quality content and transparencybecause our audience is not just a simple group of viewers and listeners, but a real community.”
