Corruption, Sartoria investigation in Catanzaro: Gip reinstates director of Neuroradiology at Gom in Reggio

Anthony Armentano68 years old, Director of the Neuroradiology Division at the Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabriainvolved five days ago in the ‘Sartoria’ investigation by the Catanzaro Public Prosecutor’s Office, wasor reinstated in his functions by the Preliminary Investigations Judge for ‘unsubstantiated judicial framework’. Armentano, along with 29 other suspects, was accused of corruption, attempted fraud and disclosure of official secrets, in relation to nine public contracts with a total value of over 33 million euros issued by the Calabria Region, the ‘Magna Graecia’ University, the ‘Pugliese-Ciaccio’ hospital company and the ‘Mater Domini’ university company. Antonio Armentano, a technical member of the Single Contracting Authority, was assisted by the lawyer Franco Sammarco. At the end of the interrogation, the investigating judge considered the circumstantial evidence to be ‘unfounded’, revoking the measure of suspension from the exercise of public offices and services.
