Series A roads and series B roads in the urban area. That’s how it is, unfortunately. The suburbs, in particular, are neglected. The maintenance plan launched months ago by the municipal administration has discarded some arteries in the areas south of the capital. Many are found in the stretch from Portapiana to Donnici. But there is also the one that leads from the Riforma to the Mariano Santo hospital. Roads traveled daily by thousands of vehicles, light and heavy. The difference between those under the jurisdiction of the Municipality and those of Anas or the Province is immediately noticeable when you arrive in front of the signs that delimit and indicate the territory under the jurisdiction of the bodies in question: the municipal roadways in many cases are damaged, marked by time, damaged , full of cracks, potholes of all sizes that force motorists into dangerous zig-zags to avoid them, while those in Anas or the Province are perfect, the bituminous surface is smooth, the center line is very clear.
The road that passes in front of the Music Conservatory has been damaged since the times of the past municipal administration. An incomplete bituminisation was done and this section was excluded like the ditches which have been authentic traps for over ten years. No one has ever said why this stretch of Highway 19 has not been repaired. And the situation gradually got worse as time went by. Now there are scattered holes, very treacherous, up to the signs that mark the beginning of the Anas competence. The same thing can be said just before and after the Donnici crossroads where, in addition to the lack of guardrails, the roadway is bumpy in several places. The municipal administration had promised comprehensive interventions, but instead only “patches” were put in place to stem the dangers. But the situation has changed little, so much so that cars jolt, drivers must be careful to avoid small potholes to avoid damage to tires or other parts of the vehicles. These are roads where complete bituminisation has not been carried out for several years. The Municipality has recently intervened as part of an extraordinary plan, especially in some central areas, forgetting the suburbs where citizens live who, despite paying taxes, are deprived of basic services.
