The redevelopment and restoration works of the San Domenico complex of the sixth CIS construction site are proceeding quickly, respecting the given time schedule. The mayor personally verified it Franz Caruso during an inspection carried out together with the municipal manager of the LLPP, Salvatore Modesto, following which the First Citizen expressed his satisfaction as it is, in fact, an important project for 6 million euros and which envisages, in a nutshell: interventions structural, surface restoration interventions and system adaptation interventions. The end of the works is scheduled for the end of December 2025, like all the interventions of the Institutional Development Contract.
“The one at the San Domenico complex – stated the mayor Franz Caruso – is a very complex project that we are carrying forward also thanks to the commitment of the councilor delegated to the CIS, Francesco Alimenato the contribution of the Public Works sector and to the support of the University of Calabria, with which, thanks to the Rector Nicola Leone, we are implementing a synergy of great value which will see the classrooms for the nursing course of studies delivered to the University. As I have said several times, we have achieved the dream, pursued by all my predecessors, of bringing Unical to our historic centre, but I can assure you that it was not easy at all. In fact, it required an extraordinary commitment and work, supported by a great passion for our historic center and for our city. Today, however, we have achieved the objective with the contribution of all the interested parties and thanks to the CIS intervention, through which the works on the entire building were expanded which allowed us to give life to the agreement between Unical and Municipality of Cosenza for the transfer of the new nursing science department”.
