Get excited through the rediscovery of culture and art. This was the mission of the meeting organized by the “Gioacchino da Fiore” classical high school as leader of the School Network, in the “G. Giacomantonio” of the National Library of Cosenza. The works of the event entitled “Let’s get excited: all the beauty of the world”, were coordinated by the journalist and president of ANDE Cosenza, Giovanna Bergantin and introduced by greetings from the director of the National Library of Cosenza, Adele Bonofiglio. The meeting was attended by, among others, Fabio Bruno, professor of the Department of Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering at the University of Calabria, the head teacher of the “Gioacchino da Fiore” classical high school, Brunella Baratta; the head teacher of the Montalto Scalo-Taverna comprehensive institute, Gemma Faraco; the director of the Museum of the Brettii and the Sea of Cetraro, Luigi Orsino. The students of the IC of Montalto Uffugo also participated in the meeting; of the IC Quattromiglia of Rende, of the Liceo Fermi-Polo Brutium Cosenza; of the Gioacchino da Fiore Rende classical high school, IO Classical High School of S. Demetrio Corone, IIS LS-IPSC-IPSIA-ITI Cariati, and of the IC Via Negroni Cosenza. “I am very happy with this event – the director of the National Library of Cosenza Adele Bonofiglio told AGI – because it is a unique opportunity to bring young people closer to the city’s monuments and, in general, to all the cultural heritage. Many do not know the Library and also the social use of a Library, which becomes a place for sharing culture and study”. “We are very satisfied – Brunella Baratta, the head teacher of the “Da Fiore” classical high school, highlighted to AGI – because we have witnessed an exchange of good practices which have the aim of developing dialogue between different levels of the school ecosystem and the they want to do through the network ecosystem, creating shared knowledge and managing to generate a particular experiential innovation”. Manager Faraco explained the importance of the initiative: “We focused on experience and wanted to experiment with action research methods to show our kids the beauty of the territories. We dealt with beauty in a civic sense. We experimented with the Mab methodology with the little ones from the nursery school, while the older students enjoyed being tourist guides for a day”. “It was an extremely interesting event – highlighted Professor Bruno – also for the possibility of supporting this network of schools that addressed an important topic. Through digital it is possible to spread the theme of beauty.” For Luigi Orsino, director of the Brettii and Sea Museum of Cetraro, “the meeting was an osmosis of emotions, of beauty. We had the opportunity to enrich ourselves and compare ourselves.”
