The state police arrested a local man in Crotone who was definitively convicted of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs. The operation was carried out in implementation of a detention order issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Ordinary Court of Crotone.
The provision arises from a previous investigative activity conducted by the Flying Squad of the Crotone Police Headquarters. During the investigations, the man – already burdened by numerous specific precedents – had been subjected to a house search in his home, in the Acquabona district, where the officers had found approximately 250 grams of cocaine and almost 700 grams of hashish.
Following the final conviction, the judicial authority ordered the subject to be transferred to the Crotone prison, where he will have to serve a sentence of 4 years and 5 months in prison.
The arrest is part of a broader territorial control plan prepared by the provincial police commissioner, Renato Panvino, aimed at preventing and combating drug trafficking, with particular attention to the areas most affected by the drug dealing phenomenon. The investigative activities, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office led by Domenico Guarascio, continue with the aim of targeting criminal organizations active in the provincial territory.
