In the abbreviated section, a shower of sentences decreed by the Gup of the Court of Palermo in the “Papiro Blu” trial against various defendants including two Calabrians originally from Locride: Pasquale Barbaro34 years old, from Platì, and Rocco Pizzinga, 49 years old, from Casignana.
Seventeen, in fact, the sentences imposed at the end of the abbreviated trial by the Sicilian judge (only one person chose to be judged with the ordinary rite) and during which 11 defendants were accused of having associated, from the year 2020 until their arrest (spring 2023), with the aim of committing an indeterminate plurality of crimes relating to the possession and sale of drugs in the Sicilian “piazze”. The investigations of the police forces, according to what was reiterated by the prosecution during the abbreviated trial and also according to what was reported by the investigators after the blitz that took place in April 2023, allowed the seizure of over 50 kg of very pure cocaine, transported from Calabria to Sicily, and would have crystallized agreements and transfers for hundreds of kg with a value of several million euros.
