The indictment of the public prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini in the “Aquila Azzurra bis” trial, underway with an abbreviated procedure at the Court of Rome, ended with the request for 11 convictions, for a total of almost 73 years of imprisonment and a fine of 200 thousand euros. At the center of the proceedings are the alleged links between the Calabrian gangs and the drug dealing centers of the capital, in particular those attributable to individuals believed to be close to Fabrizio Piscitelli, alias “Diabolik”, the historic ultras leader of Lazio murdered in August 2019, and to the so-called “Albanian battery” of Ponte Emilio.
Prosecutor Cascini made the following requests for punishment: Antonio Callipari, 6 years in prison and a fine of 26 thousand euros; Emiliano Caruso, 14 years old; Giuseppe Condello, 14 years old; Andrea Deiana, 3 years 8 months and 16 thousand euro fine; Fabrizio Giannetto, 6 years and 26 thousand euro fine; Fortunato Giorgio, 8 years and 36 thousand euro fine; Alessio Miranda, 4 years euro and 20 thousand euro fine; Francesco Nirta, 4 years and 6 months and a fine of 20 thousand euros; Antonio Romeo, 4 years and 18 thousand euro fine; Guido Strangio, 4 years and 18 thousand euro fine; Christian Testi, 4 years and 8 months and a fine of 22 thousand euros. For other defendants, the magistrate announced that the penalty requests will be formulated at the next hearing, set for October 24th.
