The Easter holidays are not just religious rites, but in Calabria they are combined with a journey made up of numerous leisure and food and wine initiatives, with a long weekend that will end only after Easter Monday. In this context, it is above all the farmhouses that are recording “sold out” numbers, where reservations have already been made for several days, demonstrating a trend that is confirmed for the umpteenth year. On the table, however, a menu absolutely linked to traditions is de rigueur. At the top of the choices of the Calabrians are local products, with desserts, fruit and vegetables, but very few seem to give up the traditional lamb, confirming a menu that is not exactly vegan. For Easter there will also be space for homemade pasta, characteristic in all festive periods, while among the desserts the «cuzzupa» and «minpitelle» stand out.
For Easter Monday, after prohibitive weather conditions for months now, we hope for a milder climate. The most popular destinations, however, are above all those linked to mountain resorts, but many are also ready to spend some time in the coastal areas.
