As required by current legislation, the electoral process set in motion by the institutional bodies of the Province of Vibo in view of the upcoming elections continues, in the name of maximum administrative transparency. On December 12, 2025, mayors and municipal councilors of the Vibonese area will be called to the polls to elect the new provincial council.
533 voters (46 mayors and 487 city councilors) 46 municipalities involved
With Resolution no. 1719 of 10 November 2025, signed by the General Secretary and head of the electoral office, Domenico Arena, the Province approved the formation of the list of those entitled to vote. There will be 533 voters: 46 mayors and 487 city councilors.
The municipalities of Acquaro, Capistrano, Stefanaconi and Tropea remain excluded from the electoral body as police stations. The administrative act also states that at least 27 signatures will be needed to present the lists (equivalent to 5% of those entitled).
Demographic groups and weighted voting
As required by Law no. 56 of 2014 (the so-called Delrio), the vote will be weighted based on the population of the municipalities of origin. The reference data are those of the 2021 census (Official Gazette n. 53 of 3 March 2023),
Electoral Office established
The provincial electoral office, established with Presidential Decree no., will coordinate the operations. 11 of 6 November 2025 and led by the Secretary General Domenico Arena himself. The body, established by president Corrado Antonio L’Andolina, will have the task of following every phase: from the reception of the lists to the verification of the minutes, up to the official transmission of the results. The following employees have been designated members of the Office: Ornella Zappia, Domenico D’Urzo, Marco De Gennaro, Alessia Cavallaro, Antonino Lascala, Giovanni Celano, Pasquale Lo Preiato, Rosario Francolino, Magda Mazza, Patrizia Corradini, Antonio Francolino, Carmine Armellino, Nicoletta Bova and Luciano Brandi.
Upcoming administrative obligations
In the next few days, the lists of candidates, the subscriptions collected and the information useful to voters will be published on the Province’s institutional website. Any changes in the electoral body, communicated by the municipal secretaries, may be noted up until the eve of the vote.
