The desire for change reshapes the political geography of the classroom. It completely overturns it, leaves out even civic expressions and gives confidence to Francesco Cannizzaro’s vision of the city. A new team which records, also thanks to the double preference, a larger female presence in the classroom. In fact, among the thirty seats, six councilors were elected from the two sides, a step forward compared to the only two female representatives of the previous electoral round.
After twelve years of Giuseppe Falcomatà’s government, few of the “big names” of that season regained a seat. After all, in two legislatures there were around 40 administrators that the mayor rotated in his executive in a waltz of names and roles which then did not produce the expected results. The city disappointed by too many events, too many delays which in recent decades have transformed hope into bitterness.
And so in the plebiscite with which the people of Reggio entrusted the future of the city to the centre-right, the “lion” role is for the mayor’s party.

Forza Italia appoints 5 councilors: Antonino Maiolino, Federico Milia are confirmed, Giuseppe Eraclini, Paolo Paviglianiti and Rocco Lascala also arrive who until the end of the long counting operations competed for the seat with the outgoing Antonino Zimbalatti, but the veteran could return after the appointment of the councillors.
Five seats also for the Cannizzaro mayoral list which managed to total 12.44% of the preferences with 10952 votes. List that opens the doors of the Battaglia Hall to Paolo Bilardi, Nicola Falduto, Fabio Colella, Manuela Iatì and Stefano Vilasi.
The performance of Fratelli d’Italia with 11.22% of the votes opens the door to 4 councilors: Demetrio Marino, Serena Antonia Mangano, Giuseppe Bilardi, Daniela De Blasio are confirmed.
Three seats for Reggio Futura, the list that sees the former mayor and governor Giuseppe Scopelliti as a point of reference will be represented by Maria Luisa Curatola, Marco Parisi and Filomena Iatì.
Two councilors for Matteo Salvini’s party, the two outgoing Nino Caridi and Giuseppe De Biasi are confirmed. Armando Neri remains out for now, but the professional could have a role within the administration.
Alternativa Popolare confirms the combative Massimo Ripepi and brings Emiliano Imbalzano back to the seats of Palazzo San Giorgio. We Moderates elects Mario Cardia, the councilor elected in the center-left as Falcomatà’s trusted man, who then moved on to the League to join Lupi’s party. The Together we can elect Miriam Pitasi list. Azione is represented in the courtroom by Gianluca Califano.
In the centre-left
Excellent seats “jump out” in the center-left lineup. Prominent figures from the previous season remain outside the Council, from Paolo Brunetti to Prime Minister Enzo Marra, from the head of cabinet Antonio Ruvolo, to Franco Barreca through Lucia Nucera and Angela Martino. The league leaders Maria Rositani also failed. Good performance by Marcantonino Malara, the most voted in his party, followed by Carmelo Versace and Giuseppe Marino. La Svolta confirms the election of Carmelo Romeo, while Reset makes Francesco Catalano debut, Giovanni Latella remains out. Highly rated with Avs Demetrio Delfino who, after having regained the role of Prime Minister and councilor, returns to Palazzo San Giorgio.
Reformist House elects Filippo Quartuccio who also leaves the ticket for this legislature. The two civic lists led respectively by Eduardo Lamberti Castronuovo and Saverio Pazzano are unable to reach a quorum.
