The executive phase of the interventions in the area of theFormer city of the boyintended to become a modern social inclusion pole for fragile subjects, to support families who live inside situations of serious disabilities.
The appointment with the delivery of the demolition works is set on Monday 10 March, at 10 am at the Gravitelli structure, in the presence of the Metropolitan Mayor Federico Basileof the general manager of Palazzo dei Leoni Giuseppe Campagnaof the general manager of the Municipality of Messina Salvo Puccio and the RUP of the works Giacomo Russo.
In this first phase, the expense of which amounts to 882,244.46 euros, the dismantling of all the existing structures will be dismantled, with the exception of the residence of Father Nino Found (intended to become a museum space), the Castellaccio (in which the reduction of the masonry structures and the simultaneous restoration of the historic fortress is expected, taking care of the maintenance of its historical-architectural characteristics), renovated and made functional to the assistance project.
In the reconstruction phase, particular attention will be paid to environmental remediation With the creation of green spaces and areas dedicated to sports activities and the safety of places through containment and drainage interventions of the hilly soil with the generation of permeable surfaces.
The new structures will see the adoption of advanced anti -seismic techniques and energy optimization through the use of photovoltaic panels and LED lighting with a systemic management of the system.
The project includes a citadel of services with theater, art, music, IT, sports and rehabilitative activities, green areas, green areas and accompaniment plans for the disabled for their best autonomy.
The urban regeneration of the boy’s former city constitutes the most relevant intervention that Palazzo dei Leoni is carrying out within the national recovery and resilience plan and which provides, overall, a design investment of 55,660,266 euros.
