In a singular setting, the Temple of Venus, in the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum, here the Marisa Bellisario Award, “Women who make a difference”. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on Raiuno on 3 July. The Prize is awarded the Medal by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella who, before the awards ceremony, wanted to meet the winners of the 36th edition at the Quirinale. “Every year, the golden apples are one of the opportunities to take stock of the state of the country – underlined the Head of State – the male gender should be grateful every time they see a woman grow, because men need the contribution of women in an absolutely equal manner.”
The list of Golden Apples is long, “a great achievement – says the president of the Bellisario Foundation Lella Golfo proudly – addressing all the women who crowd the space of the Colosseum”. And she adds, moved: “you are my strength; also in this edition, stories of entrepreneurs, managers, journalists, researchers, women who have distinguished themselves in different fields who tell us about the Italy that we want, that we imagine and that we are committed to building: a country that returns to believing and investing in future”.
But who are the winners of the 2024 edition? Let's start with the special prizes: a Sister Raffaella Petrini, first woman in the history of the Church appointed General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City; to Francesca Nanni, Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Milan; to Alfonsina Russo, Director of the Colosseum Archaeological Park. For the institutions, the women's Oscar a Margherita Cassano, president of the Court of Cassation; for information to the Rai correspondent Giovanna Botteri. Among “the women who make the difference”, for the Entertainment category, the actress was awarded Margherita Buy, a talent that ranges between cinema, TV and theatre. This year the Golden Sprout went to Federica Brignone, Italian skier protagonist in the history of the world cup. Golden apple for entrepreneurship to the manager Cristina ZucchettiPresident of the group of the same name.
The International Award went to Anna Grassellino, Sicilian scientist from Marsala who lives in Chicago where she leads 400 scientists at Fermilab. For the Management section a Elena GoitiniCEO of BNL and head of BNP Paribas for Italy.
Two awards are reserved for companies that have distinguished themselves in the field of gender equality with innovative corporate welfare actions. The Intesa Sanpaolo Women Value Company Award was awarded for medium-sized businesses to the Tuscan Pellemoda, a benefit company that develops and creates leather garments for luxury brands; for small businesses to Lab.Instruments, a significant Apulian company that produces ultrapure chemical products, certified reference materials for scientific and analytical use.
For large companies, the Work Life Balance Friendly Company Award, created in collaboration with Confindustria, was awarded to SIT, a multinational listed in the Euronext Milan segment, a sector leader in intelligent solutions for the control of environmental conditions and for measuring consumption.
Finally, awards to three brilliant recent graduates in Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering Beatrice Vincenzi, Chiara Monacchini and Veronica Grosso.
