Fire brigade teams of the Catanzaro Command, headquarters and detachment of Lamezia Termewith support from Ladder Truck and Water supply tankerhave been busy since around 2.10pm in the Garrube district in the municipality of Ancient Feroleto (CC Due Mari area) for a fire in a warehouse used for commercial activities.
The flames affected some pallets stacked outside the structure, spreading to the insulated panels of the external walls of the shed. The roof, with a wooden load-bearing structure and a covering with insulated panels, was also partially involved in the fire.
The timely intervention of the fire fighters allowed the flames to be completely extinguished, preventing them from spreading inside the commercial activity, which however suffered damage due to the blackening caused by the intense smoke produced by the combustion.
The fire is completely extinguished and structural checks are being carried out. The employees, having noticed the fire, evacuated the premises on their own without suffering any damage.
15 firefighters are operating on site, coordinated by the Expert Fire Inspector Maximum Comfort. Investigations into the origin of the fire are underway; at the moment no hypothesis is excluded.
