The judges of the Court of Review of Messina, following the hearing in chambers, confirmed the arrest of a crime suspect against the 63-year-old from Catania accused of the murder of Mario Molinaro in Fondo Saccà. The provision, issued by the Messina Prosecutor’s Office and validated by the investigating judge, provides that the suspect remains in prison.
It was the Messina State Police, in execution of a provision to arrest a crime suspect issued by the Public Prosecutor, who arrested the 63-year-old, after Molinaro’s lifeless body was found – on the night of last September 27 – inside his home, in the Maregrosso district.
The investigations, immediately started by the investigators of the Messina Flying Squad with the constant coordination of the local Prosecutor’s Office, have focused, from the beginning, on the man’s acquaintances. Following investigations by the judicial police, the position of the man from Catania, already known to the police, who would have played an active role in Molinaro’s death, emerged.
In particular, according to what was reconstructed by the investigators, the sixty-three-year-old, on the evening of September 26, reached the man at his home, killing him with an irrigation hose wrapped three times around the victim’s neck until he suffocated.
On the basis of the circumstantial elements collected by the agents of the State Police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Messina issued a provision subsequently validated by the investigating judge, with application of the precautionary measure of custody in prison against the suspect.
