The municipal council of Vibo Valentia, led by mayor Enzo Romeo, has approved the executive project for the recovery of the municipal property located in via Carlo Parisi, intended for the construction of a new social aggregation centre. A strategic work of great value for the city, which aims to strengthen the network of citizen services and promote sociality and inclusion.
The intervention, which can count on funding of 1,880,000 euros, aims to strengthen territorial infrastructure through social innovation and the redevelopment of public spaces. The building, which in the past hosted scholastic and boarding functions (most recently it was home to part of the Hotel Institute until 2015), is now in a state of abandonment.
“With this intervention – declares the councilor for Public Works, Salvatore Monteleone – we intend to give back to the city a fundamental public space, designed to encourage meeting, participation and well-being of the community. It is a concrete signal of the commitment towards a more inclusive, modern and attentive to people’s needs in Vibo Valentia”.
The project (rup the manager of the Public Works sector, Lorena Callisti) involves a complete renovation of the property, with structural interventions, with the demolition of the no longer functional parts and the creation from scratch of modern and sustainable systems, including sanitary water system, heating and cooling, photovoltaic, electrical and lighting systems, lift accessible for people with disabilities, new connections and underground services.
