An Australian couple criticized Qatar Airways after having had a long flight next to a corpse covered by a blanket. Mitchell Ring said that a passenger died last week in the middle of a 14 -hour flight between Melbourne and Doha. “They tried to take her to a business class, but it was a lady with an important build and could not pass it through the corridor,” Ring said to Australian television Nine News. “They seemed a little frustrated, then they looked at me and saw that there were places available next to me.”
According to Ring, they made him wait for the corpse even after landing. “The ambulance staff and the police entered and started to remove the blankets from the lady,” he said. “It wasn’t pleasant.” Ring and his wife, Jennifer Colin, were sitting for about four hours next to the body even if there were other places available. Qatar Airways apologized in a statement to the Australian press “for any inconvenience or anguish that this accident can cause”.
