Moments of great apprehension in the late afternoon yesterday in Capo Milazzo. A 59 -year -old German tourist has in fact fallen with the deltaplano in the waters of the protected marine area. For pure miracle it has remained unharmed. Only a lot of fear and state of shock, thanks also to the timely and effective rescue by the patrol boat of the Port Authority.
The man had taken the flight, apparently, near Monte Trino, together with other friends, but then for reasons still to be ascertained, but probably for a failure of the equipment, he lost control of the vehicle, however managing to avoid ending up against the ridge, but directly in the waters of Capo Milazzo. The alarm was immediate and the other pilots contacted the coastal guard operating room which sent the CP 875 patrol boat to the accident in the area.
Thanks also to the help of the cameras of the Marine Protected Area of Capo Milazzo, It was possible to monitor man’s position and provide precise indications to the military. The patrol boat reached the man in no time, finding that the same, even tired and tried, was still connected to his equipment. It was taken and conducted at the Port Authority to receive assistance and medical treatment from 118. Transported to the hospital of Milazzo the health workers excluded injuries.
Fortunately very different epilogue from last November, when, always for a breakdown to the equipment, however, this time on the west embankment, near the former Le domgers, two tourists, father and daughter of South Tyrol, who were on vacation in Milazzo near the former disco. Marcus Florian, 57 years old he died after hospitalization at the Milazzo hospital for a cardiac arrest. His conditions compared to those of his daughter, urgently transferred to the Polyclinic in a reserved prognosis, worsened within a few hours. The girl subsequently managed to recover although not exceeding the trauma for the tragic disappearance of the parent. To determine the fall would have been the sudden release of one of the two paragliding carabiners.
