The anti-mafia prosecutor’s office in Reggio Calabria has made requests for a sentence of almost 200 years in prison for the 16 defendants in the “Hybris” trial underway before the Palmi court. Among the sentencing requests, those of Rocco Delfino and Antonio Zito stand out for 30 years in prison, that of Ernesto Madafferi for 26 years, for Cosimo Romagnosi (born in 1960) for 25 years and for Rosario Mazzaferro for 15 years. The prosecutor also invoked sentences for Andrea Alampi, 5 years and eight months, Antonio Albanese 8 years, Salvatore Carbone 7 years and three months, Giuseppe Coronese 7 years, Carmela De Gori 7 years, Antonio Franza 10 years, Antonio Ieraci 3 years, Maria Martino (wife of Gioia Tauro boss Pino Piromalli) 7 years and six months, Vincenzo Simone Minniti 2 years, Francesco Benito Palaia 9 years and six months and Gaetano Verga 8 years and ten months.

At the end of the indictment, the public prosecutor also asked the Palmi court panel to confiscate the assets seized from Antonio Zito; of an apartment owned by Salvatore Delfino and the transmission of documents to the prosecutor’s office, for perjury, of four witnesses interviewed during the trial. The defense arguments will begin in the next few days, before the council chamber and the first degree sentence.
