From a little room in Carolei to the big screen. It is the path of Giovanni Segreti Bruno, the young singer-songwriter from Cosenza who wrote a song on the soundtrack of Federico Moccia’s new film. It is the story of a passion that blossomed at the age of 10 when, after the first piano performance, the first standing ovation arrived. It is the goal of an artist who has invested in every stage to gather an entire path and focus further ahead, on prospects.
“I love you” is “an intimate, genuine piece, perfect for one of the most tender scenes of the plot”. Moccia listened to it and found the same intentions as his film (“Mamma here’s in charge”, in theaters from September 14th). Giovanni actually wrote that song during the first lockdown (and published in January 2021), “it wanted to be a collective hug in a moment of maximum distance. Those three words that we would like to say and hear”.
A coincidence of intent between Moccia’s scenes and Bruno’s music (he has already seen the film – for which he also composed the jingle “Giorni di Natale” – and it was “an unrepeatable emotion”) translated into the words, into the notes, but also into the mood.
Today that Giovanni has left his little Carolei (“but I always come back, Carolei is the place of inspiration as well as roots”) for the great sea of Rome; now that he has put “unique” experiences on the bulletin board such as participation in the casting of Amici (“Talent events are an important showcase, but you must have a good product to exhibit”. By the way, the direction of the video clip for “Ti amore Bene” is of maestro Emanuel Lo), the triumph at Area Sanremo (in 2018), the signature on a single by Anggun, the collaboration with Lorenzo Licitra; in the days in which he is recording his first album (the release is expected by the end of the year) thanks also to the victory of the Nuovo IMAIE competition (“on 17 September at the New York Canta I will present a new single”)… dream. A dream called Festival. “I have the right piece, the most important of those written so far. It talks about a personal experience, about dark love, about betrayal. It would fit perfectly in competition with the orchestra, I can already feel it. I’ll try!”.
