“A true symphony: the natural music of this place integrates perfectly with Dante’s immortal verses. The sounds of the river, the wind, even the croaking of the frogs during the show, give a great emotion. Why this place probably unique in the world, creates a wonderful context. So Hell becomes one of the most engaging shows you can witness: an extraordinary experience”.

This was stated by Carmelo Galati, president of the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory of Catania, among the personalities who underlined the pleasure of attending theHell of Dante in the Alcantara Gorges, the blockbuster of recordsthe most viewed theatrical work in our region since 2018. And which is sponsored by the MiC, the Ministry of Culture, the Ars, the Department of Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, the Federico II Foundation, the Alcantara River Park Authority and the Municipalities of Motta Camastra and Castiglione di Sicilia.

“An event – said Salvo Zappalà, president of the Epli (Ente Pro Loco Italia) of Sicily – absolutely not to be missed, truly spectacular. The locationthe actors, the organizational effort here in the Alcantara Gorges makes theHell a truly exceptional theatrical work”.

And the applause of the audience also last weekend, the third of this season, expressed every evening the appreciation for those who allow the show to be staged. Starting, of course, with the actors: Liliana Randi (Narrator), Angelo D’Agosta (Dante), Davide Sbrogiò (Virgil), Davide Pandolfo (Ugolino and Ciacco), Giovanna Mangiù (Francesca da Rimini), Luciano Fioretto (Tourist and Charon), Francesco Bernava (Farinata degli Uberti), Rosario Minardi (Ulysses) and Gabriele Casablanca (Paolo, Diomede and Archbishop Ruggieri). Applause also for the Damned: Beatrice Caudullo, Michela Di Francesco, Maria Lardaloro, Marta Marino, Enrica Pandolfo, Lucio Rapisarda, Francesco Salpietro, Gloria Trischitta and Ariluna Verrazzo. Also appreciated were the choreography by Fia Di Stefano, the costumes by Riccardo Cappello, the music by Nello Toscano and the special effects by Alfredo Vaccalluzzo. And consensus for Simone Trischitta (general organizer), Luciano Catotti and Ninni Trischitta (executive producers), Agnese Failla and Lucia Rotondo (assistant director), Davide La Colla (light designer) and Enzo Valenti (sound designer).

“There is always – confessed Liliana Randi, who plays the role of the Narrator – a great enthusiasm from the audience. And we actors feel a huge emotion when, at the end of the second show, they tell us about the magic that is experienced here not only for the show but for the place: with the river flowing, making their voices heard in the background, I and other actors cross the Alcantara, always full of water. And this also triggers our emotions”.

“As we had foreseen – commented Carmelo Blancato, mayor of Motta Camastra – in the conference held in recent months in our municipality in the presence of the regional councillor for tourism Elvira Amata, theHell Dante’s visit here in the Gorges has achieved another great success, leading to a relaunch of the Alcantara Valley in both economic and image terms”.

And he added that he was “proud, as mayor, to host this event presented at the last Bit in Milan and which is being talked about throughout the country and also in Europe”.

“Not a day goes by – he revealed – without requests for information on the show arriving at the Municipality and we are always available to collaborate”.
