Jannik Sinner beat Alexander Zverev in the final and won the Erste Bank Open, an ATP 500 tournament with a total prize pool of 2,736,875 euros played on the hard indoor courts of Vienna. In the last act of the event, the Italian, number two in the world and first seeding favourite, defeated the German, number 3 in the international ranking and second strength in the draw, with a score of 3-6 6-3 7-5, after around two and a half hours of authentic battle. For Sinner it is the 22nd title of his career (out of 31 finals played) on the major circuit, the fourth of 2025. For the South Tyrolean it is also the second triumph in Vienna, where he also won the trophy in 2023. For Zverev, however, it was the 40th final act of his career: up to now he has won 24 ATP titles. In terms of the ATP rankings, the gap between Alcaraz now drops below a thousand points: 11,340 for the Spaniard n.1 in the world and 10,500 for the Italian.
