An intervention without any hesitation that of Ferdinando Laghi at the 12th CastroCuore Cardiology conference, organized as usual in the city of Pollino.
The Regional Councilor and group leader of “De Magistris Presidente” – but before that a doctor and former head physician in the Castrovillari spoke – illustrated how the department directed by the head physician Giovanni Bisignani is certainly a feather in the cap of this hospital, a flower which however risks to be cut off due to the critical conditions in which he is forced to operate.
For Laghi, there are too many deficits on which the ASP does not interveneand, starting from a haemodynamics department which continues to work only on H6 this year too, to the competitions for medical managers and primary doctors which have never been completed or even held, as in the case of Orthopaedics, which we continue to talk about and which promptly continues to remain closed. Not to mention an inefficient CUP, which sometimes directs patients, unnecessarily, to other centers. And then the departments, practically all of them, which scream a desperate need for personnel.
“These numbers and even more the daily behaviors – concludes Laghi – lead us to say that there is a prejudice on the part of the ASP of Cosenza against the Castrovillari Hospital and therefore against the populations of the Pollino – Sibaritide – Esaro area which to this spoke are the head, against which unacceptable discrimination is made compared to other territories and populations of the largest province of Calabria”. A serious statement, supported by the numbers illustrated by the Councillor, which highlight the enormous disparity between that of Castrovillari and the other spokes of the Province of Cosenza.
It is for all this that Councilor Laghi declared he will take part in the demonstration on 11 October, organized by the Committee of Castrovillari Associations, at the Asp of Cosenza. “A necessary act – concluded Laghi – to defend the right to health of the populations of the central-northern area of the province of Cosenza”.
