The neighborhood to come. The Sambiase of the future between new projects and restoration of ancient buildings, green areas, squares and other public spaces.
Yesterday evening, in the hall of the parish of San Francesco di Paola, lThe municipal administration presented to citizens the urban redevelopment plan for the area of the former municipality of Sambiase with the works already started and the projects in the pipeline. Among the audience were the mayor Paolo Mascaro with the councilors of the council, the president of the civic assembly Giancarlo Nicotera, and several city councilors.
The urban planning councilor Francesco Stella illustrated the mega widespread restyling project. The meeting with the citizens was intended to be «a significant opportunity for active participation for the future of the territory; an opportunity for valuable suggestions in order to improve the quality of life together with the valorisation of particular areas rich in history or with extraordinary naturalistic peculiarities”.
The projects (those started and those that will soon become construction sites) are financed by Pnrr funds (from 20 to 30 million euros in total). They will serve, for example, to restore shape and beauty to Piazza Garibaldi which rises up to the Carmine church for which there is already a definitive project. The new square will be terraced with lots of greenery and spaces that can be used by everyone, without any type of barrier. Other interventions already started concern the school in via delle Rose, the “Ligea” nursery school near the San Benedetto inter-parish complex, the reclamation of the Bagni river from where a bridge will start to connect the Ginepri seafront to the Cafarone one.
