The budget law, just voted in the Chamber for the final green light, essentially provides six measures for agriculture and fishing which respond, underlined by the Ministry of Agriculture, to the objectives of giving relief in fiscal matters to businesses, supporting their competitiveness. As well as ensuring quality food even for those with limited purchasing power, and extending field trials to support innovation in the primary sector. In particular, the measure confirms the Irpef exemption for territorial and agricultural income, which is extended to the whole of 2026. A measure for direct farmers and professional agricultural entrepreneurs (IAP), who thus see the tax pressure on the tax base decrease. On the production costs front, the armoring for agricultural diesel arrives: the agricultural sector maintains its benefits also for 2026, thus guaranteeing stability in production costs.

The “Card Dedicated to You” refinanced with one billion for the two-year period 2026-27

While the “Card Dedicated to You” for the purchase of basic food items is refinanced with one billion euros for the two-year period 2026-2027 (500 million per year), guaranteeing concrete support for the purchasing power of families with an ISEE of less than 15,000 euros and, consequently, for the demand for Italian agri-food products. The Meloni government, highlights Masaf, continues to strengthen the competitiveness of businesses with the extension to 2026 of the Tax Credit for the Single Agricultural SEZ. With an allocation of 50 million euros, companies in the South will be able to benefit from extremely advantageous tax rates (around 58% for SMEs), with a wider time window to communicate the expenses incurred. And to enhance the social dimension of work and in particular agricultural work, the Law stabilizes Loagri (Casual work in agriculture). The special regulation, which allows contracts of up to 45 days per year, becomes structural from 2026 and opens up to network contracts, encouraging collaboration between companies also in the transfer of quotas. At the same time, the structure of the Extraordinary Commissioner is strengthened and comes under the coordination of Masaf, under the direct guidance of the Fisheries Directorate. A move that guarantees management that is closer to the needs of fishermen, supported by a technical task force made up of Ministry managers, environmental experts and units of the Harbor Offices. The experimentation in the field of TEA (Assisted Evolution Technologies) has also been extended until the end of 2026. With one million euros of additional funds, research into plants resistant to climate change will be able to continue.
