Fifteen vehicles involved and two people injured: this is the toll of the huge collision that occurred this morning on the A2, in Reggio Calabria. According to the Anas update, the southbound carriageway is temporarily closed to allow the removal of vehicles. Traffic in the stretch between km 3.521 and km 7.38 is diverted along the adjacent road, with mandatory exit at the Gallico sud junction.
The dynamics in the reconstruction phase
The dynamics of the accident are being reconstructed. The collision initially congested traffic for hours, with the cars then starting to proceed at walking pace, before the closure announced by Anas. Rescue services, the traffic police and the civil protection intervened on site. To allow the ambulance to pass, the Civil Protection operators had the vehicles queued up on the sides of the road.
