Messina collapses again at the “Franco Scoglio”, also defeated by a cynical Foggia who lets the biancoscucas let off steam in the first twenty minutes, strikes in the 26th minute with Mazzocco’s diagonal and completes the 0-3 in a second half in which Messina is practically non-existent.
Yet the first half of the Peloritani was discreetwith Petrungaro and Frisenna coming close to scoring with two shots from outside the area. In the 26th minute, as mentioned, Mazzocco’s left-footed diagonal shot made it 0-1 with the clear complicity of Krapikas who shortly afterwards partially redeemed himself on Mazzocco’s header. Perina, on the opposite front, is excellent on Petrungaro and Petrucci, with Messina’s match effectively ending here. In the second half, first Mazzocco comes close to hitting the post and then Krapikas is sensational on Tascone. Shortly after the hour mark, Anatriello came close to equalising, but shot sky high from close range. Six minutes pass and Foggia doubles again with Mazzocco on an assist from Zunno and after another naivety from Krapikas. Match closed, Messina does not react and in the 93rd minute Emmausso also scores the hat trick, but does not celebrate in respect of his recent past.
