Hours of deep reflection. Mayor Federico Basile, with his Administration, knows he is at a decisive crossroads, not only for his political career, but also for the immediate fate of the city, which he has governed for the last 4 years or so (to which must be added the 4 years of the De Luca Council). The considerations and strategies are quite open and are those of South Calls North, a party that in all these years has had to confront, compete and fight against the two main factions, those of the Centre-Right and the Centre-Left. Yes, it is true, Cateno De Luca, from time to time, has shown that he is now moving closer to one or another coalition, but in fact his has always been a solitary path which, however, has been successful, with the creation of a real political-administrative system (which his opponents define as a “clientelistic system” and his supporters as a “model of virtuous administration of municipalities and territories”).
And here is the crossroads, at which De Luca finds himself and, “obtorto collo”, the mayor of Messina, elected in 2022 with the “Deluchian” votes.
