He should have been under house arrest at an aunt’s house, but he decided to take refuge in another family home, where he barricaded himself for fear of returning to prison. The protagonist of the story is a 19-year-old from Messina, arrested during the night by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit for tax evasion.

The intervention took place in the southern area of the city, after the young man’s mother reported it to the single emergency number 112 NUE. The woman had reported that her son, locked in the house alone, was threatening to commit self-harm if forced to return to prison.

Once on site, the soldiers began a dialogue with the boy, who appeared to be in a strong state of agitation. After a few minutes of negotiation, the police managed to convince him to open the door and give up his intentions, guaranteeing the intervention was safe.

The 19-year-old was then arrested for evasion and also reported for violating the measures to remove him from the family home and the ban on approaching places frequented by his mother, the recipient of previous precautionary measures.

Once the investigations were concluded, the young man was once again placed under house arrest, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
