After a long absence lasting many years, Messina today re-embraces one of its most iconic traditions: the “Befana of the Policeman”. The initiative, organized by Vespa Club Messina with the patronage of the Municipality, it is animating the heart of the city in the name of historical memory and charity.
The nerve center of the event is the avenue of via Tommaso Cannizzaroright in front of the University. The area has been transformed into an open-air museum, reserved for parking Vespas, motorcycles and vintage cars belonging to the various historic clubs invited to the event.

The historic platform and the collection of gifts
The most evocative image of the day is found at the intersection of via Tommaso Cannizzaro and via Cesare Battisti:
- An officer of the Municipal Police, in official uniform, has returned to tower over the historic building circular platform with black and white stripes.
- The parade participants are placing theirs at the foot of the platform giftsfollowing an orderly route so as not to hinder city traffic.
- All the goods collected during the morning will not remain simple symbols: at the end of the event, they will be donated to charity to two city speakers.
A day that combines the passion for old-time engines with a concrete gesture of closeness towards the little ones and the social realities of the city.
