A fresh episode, balanced and full of ideas, the one aired last Tuesday on RTP. Claretta Marchese won the victory with a refined first course of courgettes and tunaexceeding the gritty Nico Scandurra, in the race with a proposal based on shrimp and courgettes.
Messin … table returns on Tuesday for a new and compelling challenge, this time all focused on a protagonist of the sea: the clams. Precious and delicate ingredients, symbol of the coast cuisine and protagonists of many traditional recipes, the clams promise to put the technical test, sensitivity and creativity of competitors.
Known locally also as “feminelle”, these molluscs represent an identification ingredient of Mediterranean cuisine and are used in many Sicilian seafaring recipes, from classic linguine to simpler and genuine appetizers. I am a symbol of a deep bond with the sea and of a gastronomic tradition that makes freshness and simplicity its cornerstones.
To challenge each other in the stove, this time, Carlotta Delponte, 26 years old, foodblogger passionate about Mediterranean cuisine and visual experimentation, and Salvatore Vadalà, 52 years old, banker in a bakery, a face known in his neighborhood and custodian of a concrete cuisine, made of daily gestures and authentic flavors. Two different worlds, two opposite approaches, but only one goal: to conquer the palate of the jury.
And it will be an exceptional jury called to evaluate the dishes of this episode: Nicola Cicero, professor and expert of gastronomic culture; Lillo Laganà, director of La Corte dei Mari; The historical juror and gastronomist expert will be Gugliotta; Salvatore De Maria, soul and face of the program; Carmen Simone, nutritionist attentive to the balance between taste and health; Gaetano Borgosano, chef patron of the Pantarei restaurant and Daniela Siracusano, architect and Cesarina, witness of the Messina culinary tradition. “I am really curious to know how the Messina clams will be used in these recipes, the feminins are rich in flavor,” said Daniela Siracusano. And all the curiosities of the new guest will be definitely satisfied by the participation of chef Paolo Romeo who, with his original interpretation of the clams, will present a dish capable of enhancing the flavor without distorting the delicacy of this dish.
