Road connection between the port and the exit of the motorway junction: there is an alternative hypothesis to that proposed by a company appointed by the Port System Authority and “rejected” by the Administration as it involved the passage from Piazza Marconi, an area which has been the subject of redevelopment and which envisages much more in the future planning connected to the “Traimari” park.
The alternative route would pass through the Archi area and then through some areas pertaining to the refinery. More will be known today, given that the president of the System Authority, Francesco Rizzo, has convened a technical table in Messina in which the mayors of the Municipalities of Milazzo, San Filippo del Mela and Pace del Mela will take part, accompanied by their respective technical managers, the Refinery itself, the Port Authority, the Superintendence and the company “Ird Engineering srl”, agent of the temporary grouping of companies which was responsible for proceeding with the design which is was financed by the Ministry of Infrastructure.
