Ten thousand students achieved, 80 schools involved for a total of about 140 plexuses distributed throughout the regional territory, over 2000 young people who, by the end of this school year, will follow the training courses in digital matters and will receive the Eipass certification.

These are the numbers of the project “Mirai-together we create the future” which we talked about today in the regional citadel in Catanzaro, with the councilor for labor policies and professional training, Giovanni Calabresethe General Manager of the Regional Department of Labor, Fortunato Varone, the sector manager responsible for the employment centers, Sergio Tassone, The General Manager of the Programming Department, Maurizio Nicolai, The president of Uneindustria Calabria, Aldo Ferrara and the president of young entrepreneurs, Vincenzo Giovanni Squillacioti. Over 200 Calabrian students present, together with the school managers, teachers and directors of the employment centers of the Calabria Region.

“The citadel is the house of the young Calabrians, it is your home.” This was stated by the Calabrian councilor by contacting the hundreds of students present at the initiative. “Today – he continued – we can say that employment opportunities are concrete thanks also to what we are planning together with the president Occhiuto and the whole regional government. They are proud of the results that the Labor Department is obtaining. Young people represent our priority and Mirai fits fully into this vision”.

“The Mirai project – explained Calabrian – aims to enhance the employment centers, which today present themselves deeply renewed and increasingly central in the active work policies, through an articulated and structured path, and to consolidate their presence within the schools, increasingly actively involved in the territory. It was started as an experimental by the Center for the employment of Reggio Calabria was then extended to the whole region. It is a submerged, irregular, underpaid work. rich in potential, finally projected towards the future and no longer closed in itself “.

“The Region – remarked the exponent of the Coissimo junta – bets on you and prepares the conditions for your entry into a world of work that is renewed more and more. This project was born to make you know the world of work and make you understand, through the centers for the impetus, work opportunities, but also to make your needs known to us, your wishes. From here, today, the challenge that all together we must face to make you work in our beautiful region starts. Mirai is much more than a project: it is the promise of a Calabria who chooses to believe in its young people, invests in their talent and accompanies them, step by step, towards a future that we can build together “.

The Lavoro Department has also established a competition to reward three of the documents on the Mirai project presented by the schools involved.
The first prize was awarded to IPsia da Vinci in Castrovillari (2 thousand euros); the second at the Institute of Higher Education in Bagnara Calabra (1,500 euros); The third to the student Aya Lauibi of the Lombardo Satriani linguistic high school in Mesoraca.
In addition, the winning children will be invited by the end of the school year 2024/2025 for “A day in the region”: they will make a tour of the Citadel, they will meet the president Occhiuto, the Councilor Calabrian, the general manager Varone, and will know the activities of the regional work department.

The manager Varone explained that Mirai means future in Japanese “and wants to be a wish for prosperity that is addressed to the Calabrian boys”. “With this project – he said – we are trying to intervene to eliminate the MISMATCH that exists between the demand and demand of work. The project is three years and the boys involved, almost 2 thousand, will go to formation in fundamental subjects for the work of the future, working on specific skills in a world that changes also according to the AI. In support of all this we have signed an agreement with Unaindustria Calabria”.

For his part, President Ferrara reiterated that “it is the beginning of a path together in which Unaindustria will be alongside this project in a convinced and structured way”.
