A 2-year-old girl who walked more than three miles barefoot with her two dogs was found sleeping near a Michigan forest trail, using the smaller dog as a pillow. CNN reports it.

Officers were called to a home in Faithorn, Michigan, at 8pm on Wednesday after the little girl wandered away from the home, said Lt. Mark Giannunzio of the Michigan State Police. Her mother said that she had felt the instinct to check on her daughter who was playing in the garden and she discovered that her uncle had told her to come into her house because she didn’t have her shoes she.

When they realized that Thea was not at home, they started looking for her and, after 20 minutes, they called the police. Police sent drones and search teams, while the local community formed its own search group to help find the little girl.

Around midnight, a family friend, searching for the little girl in an all-terrain vehicle, found the family’s Rottweiler, Buddy. Shortly after, he discovered the little girl who was sleeping using Hartley, the family’s other dog, as a pillow.

When she was found, the outside temperature was around 15 degrees. After a medical checkup, it was determined that the little girl was fine.
