A challenge to be relaunched to regain the trust of a territory disillusioned by commitments that too often fall on deaf ears, the one that the new extraordinary commissioner of Asp 5 of Messina and next general director Giuseppe Cucci collects on the Nebrodi. In recent days the first approach was with a visit to the “Santissimo Salvatore” hospital in Mistretta to take stock of the reality and critical issues “as is repeated everywhere mainly linked to the lack of staff” and to chart the future course.

«We will try to start the competition activities in the shortest time as well as the assignment through open tender of specialist activities already implemented previously», explains Commissioner Cuccì to the Gazzetta del Sud. «We have used a linear criterion to make it even more reliable and the assignment is secure also from a regulatory point of view as well as the appropriateness of the services”. In recent days, the union table was preparatory to the acquisition of expressions of interest for surgical and outpatient activities in the hospitals of Mistretta and Sant’Agata Militello. «A meeting with a constructive and very productive dialectic for the input and suggestions that were given to us», comments Cuccì, confirming that the announcement is now on its way. «We perfectly agree on the need to prioritize public service, but the problem is recruiting staff who are not only up to the task but also willing to travel, especially in internal areas. I have already asked the manager of the human resources service to have a synoptic overview of the various disciplines, mainly those most lacking at the moment, starting from the emergency emergency”. Accompanied by the mayor Tata Sanzarelloby the director of the garrison Lucia Sottile and by the medical managers, together with the health director of the Asp Rosalia Murèthe commissioner also visited the intensive neurorehabilitation wing managed by ICS Maugeri, extended as already reported to 30 April pending the new public tender, and met with the assembly of mayors of the district.

«On neurorehabilitation I guarantee that we will not deprive the territory of such an important service and here too we are working for the assignment with maximum transparency and according to the rules – concludes the commissioner -. Regarding local services, we know that there are various shortcomings so by implementing professional resources we will be able to activate, starting from prevention activities, a fundamental basis for alleviating the emergency emergency and strengthening the healthcare offer in the area”. «The integration between the different entities operating in Mistretta represents a positive synergy with the ASP to be maintained at all costs – underlines the mayor of Mistretta Tatà Sanzarello -. Regarding neurorehabilitation we have requested a procedure similar to that used in Sciacca to guarantee the continuity of an excellent service from ICS Maugeri, Sla regional reference center. We therefore asked for the strengthening of the emergency room and hoped for collaboration with the Nicosia hospital, which thanks to the new connection road is closer to us, in a functional relationship also with the Sant’Agata hospital”.
