It is Sebastiano Tamà, former city councilor, with past stints in Forza Italia and the MPA, the new entry into the South calls North announced in the now usual Tuesday press conference. Basile Mayor will be a candidate on the list, in an electoral competition which currently remains set for the natural deadline of 2027, and with respect to which, Cateno De Luca reiterated, “the city is not at the center of political negotiations. We will not allow those who massacred the city to join our path, started in 2018. It would be idiotic”. De Luca also confirmed that “as Schifani himself said, South calls North is not about to, nor will it ever be, enter the regional majority”.
Today’s press conference was also dedicated to the results obtained in recent years in the field of school construction, illustrated by De Luca himself (“it all started in 2018, when I closed all the schools with an ordinance”), by mayor Basile and by deputy mayor Salvatore Mondello: “In 7 years what had not been done in 40 years was done. We found only 7 schools out of 104 with the seismic vulnerability check, today we have interventions for 85 million euros”. De Luca also mentioned the Zanklon affair: “We will make our decision, because it is the task of those who administer, but the city council must take its responsibilities. And I speak to all the political forces.”
