The Tesla boss, the richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of over $250 billion, has previously donated to both Democrats and Republicans, but never to such significant amounts.
In July, The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk was planning to donate about $45 million a month to help Donald Trump win the election, a claim the billionaire later denied.
