Near tragedy in Capo d’Orlando where a large boulder that fell from Monte della Madonna onto the road below risked running over a passing car. The traffic police (Gugliotta – De Salvo) intervened immediately, alerted by some motorists who had managed to avoid the impact of their car against the boulder. The boulder broke off at the height of the lighthouse curve and the artery, the provincial road 147 which leads from Capo d’Orlando center to S. Gregorio, was closed to traffic awaiting the intervention of the Metropolitan City of Messina, owner of the road. The Municipal Civil Protection is also on site.
