The Equal Opportunities Committee of the Vibo Valentia Bar Association with the president Giusi Fanelli and the Bar Association of Vibo Valentia with the president Francesco De Lucaon November 25th, on the occasion of the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women”, will gather at 4.30 pm in front of the Palazzo di Giusizia in Via Lacquari for the lighting ceremony of the red building, a symbol of combating gender violence. The meeting, with its symbolic value, is open to citizens in the presence of the highest civil, military, religious and political authorities, as well as legal and non-legal associations, all invited.
The Judicial Authorities and Prosecutors will be present in robes with a red symbol, as a moment of awareness and fight against gender violence.
President Fanelli also reminds us that alongside the initiatives already promoted on the subject of gender violence in the month of November, on the morning of the 25th the young students of the Vito Capialbi State High School will be protagonists with the execution of theatrical, musical and dance performances on the theme of violence in the main hall of the same institute. Speakers will be the Equal Opportunities Committee, the Director Angelica Pedatella, author of the short film “SCUSA”, which will be screened and followed by a debate with the students, the Secretary of Corecom Calabria, Pasquale Petrolo, with the innovations of Corecom Calabria connected to Media Education: ” The Academy on Tour and the Digital Control Towers”.
Fanelli concludes by thanking CORECOM Calabria, in the person of President Fulvio Scarpino, who sponsored the event, the Headmaster Antonello Scalamandrè together with the teacher Ines Calafati, coordinator of the initiative, the students who will moderate and perform and the teacher Puzzello Francesco , writer of the poetic collection “The old Ulivo”.
