Messina eliminated from the Serie C Italian Cup: the Giallorossi of Modica lost the derby against Catania, surrendering 2-1 at the Etna stadium. Peloritani was immediately in difficulty at the start with Catania coming close to taking the lead several times. First half of Etna style with the hosts who however are unable to break through. The first 45′ ended at 0-0. In the second half Catania went ahead: Bocic and Sarao scored, with the Giallorossi continuing to dance in defense (a real flaw in this start to the season). At the end of the match the reaction of the Modica team limited the damage: first Pacciardi’s crossbar and then Ortisi’s goal.
